During a summer working at their family vineyard in Bordeaux, husband-and-wife team Mathilde and Bertrand Thomas ran into a polyphenol specialist who casually mentioned the amazing antioxidant power and skincare potential of grapes. This led the Thomases to launch Caudalie, an eco-friendly, wine-derived, super-effective skincare line. (Dr. Vercauteren still serves as the brand's scientific advisor.) Over twenty years — and four medical patents — later, wine is still a major foundation of the brand. How big? Well, look at the name. A caudalie is the unit for measuring for how long a wine lingers in the mouth — one caudalie per second, and you start counting as soon as you sip. This is an exfoliator that's suited for all skin types, with perfectly round corn beads to slough off dead skin without irritating or tearing. Grape pulp extracts add hydration, and green pomelo and mint make it smell delicious. Use it on its own or mix with the Foaming Cleanser 2-3 times a week.
